In 2008, I moved to the United States with the ambitious goal of pursuing a career as a rocket scientist. Over the next ten years, my career unfolded through a series of endeavors that spanned the breadth of aerospace engineering and beyond. I contributed to the support of the International Space Station launching international payloads, and lent my engineering skills to the development of stealth fighter jets. My expertise later extended to the commercial and military satellite sectors, as well as to the development of advanced defense systems.
I transitioned from these high-stakes environments, to the tech industry. This led me to Amazon, where I was involved in the development and production of Alexa devices, immersing myself in the cutting-edge world of smart technology. Later, at Salesforce, I supported the Einstein AI initiatives, contributing to the advancement of AI on the Salesforce platform.
Recently, I’ve been deeply motivated to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can transform healthcare. My aim is to harness AI for enhancing diagnostic accuracy and streamlining the inefficiencies plaguing the American healthcare system. Beyond healthcare, I am passionately committed to leveraging AI techniques in the battle against human trafficking, including online sexual exploitation of children, bonded labor, and all forms of slavery. By applying advanced machine learning strategies, we have the potential to expedite the identification and rescue of children caught in these tragic circumstances. My guiding principle is a steadfast belief in the freedom of every individual. “Until all are free,” I am dedicated to employing AI as a powerful tool for social good and justice.
Outside my professional endeavors, my greatest joy lies in cherishing moments with my family, exploring national park trails, challenging my limits in triathlon competitions, indulging in the simple pleasure of a run, or losing myself in the pages of an exceptional book.
Education
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. I then pursued a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Additionally, I have obtained certifications in Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare from Stanford University.
